About Us (kind of)
In 2005, my friend Phil decided to sell his worldy posessions, quit his job, risk
divorce and travel around the world.
He took with him his wife, a backpack and a BlackBerry. I guess he thought
he would find food and shelter on the way.
About a month later he called me and I yelled, "I have no news! How would I know about Tom and Katie!"
Hence began SimplyHeadlines, the world's easiest customized newspaper.
It's now a year later and the one person we told told another who told another who
told the bloggers who told the world. Thousands of users later we laugh at how
we began and marvel at where we are going.
That's where we came from. This is what SimplyHeadlines is
about.
It's about being lazy, having the news come to you each day - when you want it
without having to push buttons to open a browser and surf the web for news.
It's about taking only eight minutes to read a brief synopsis of the what's what
and the who's who.
It's about waking up in the morning to your paper, not A
paper, your paper, your
way delivered to
you.
It's about feeling edumataced in a strategory society. It's about being
able to say, "oh yeah, did you hear about that category 5 hurricane bearing
down on the Gulf" or "yes sir, I know all about Tom and Katie's newborn photos"
